Even the younger kids from ages 2 to 7 can send messages this way. Chatster is available for iPad and iPhone devices. It has notification functionality, so you get alerted if you receive a new message. There is a limited but well chosen set of emojis available. The interface is quite easy to understand, your kids wont have any problems navigating through the application.
